Quick answers

Rent-to-own questions we hear most

What is a rent-to-own home?

You rent a home now with the right, or in some contracts the duty, to buy it later on terms set in a written agreement. Part of each on-time payment may be credited toward your purchase.

Is rent-to-own the same as lease-to-own?

Yes, they are two names for the same idea. The contract itself is usually a lease-option, which gives you the right to buy, or a lease-purchase, which requires you to buy.

Do I need perfect credit?

No. Rent-to-own is often used by buyers who need time to build credit or savings. You will still need to qualify for a mortgage when you buy.

Is the guide really free?

Yes. Tell us where to send it and you can read it right away.
